I'm really lucky to be working in the Fashion district of downtown. It is full of cute coffee shops, juice bars, and amazing restaurants. I also work right across the street from the famous Ace Hotel, which is perfect for after work rooftop drinks (or overpriced, but scrumptious avo toast for lunch).

On Fridays, I like to get my workouts done in the morning to allow flexibility for Friday night plans (which 90% of the time is laundry). Not only does it feel great to start my morning off with a killer workout, but it makes me put in a bit more effort getting dressed because I know my workout is out of the way. I like to break out those pieces that may not always be the most functional, but they're fun and get me excited for the weekend.
I snagged this cropped bell sleeve top from Zara and the shorts were a lucky Goodwill find. I love how effortless this top makes getting dressed. The top in itself is such a statement piece, so simple jean shorts and a gladiator sandal easily top off the look.
Trying out a statement piece can be a little overwhelming at first, especially if you're not keen on attention. Keeping the rest of your look simple and clean is key. If you're not sure how to go about styling a certain look, I always look for inspiration from people around me. If I see a look I like, I immediately make note of it on my phone and recreate the look with pieces I already own.
