DIY Coffee Body Scrub

Up until about a month ago, I had never had coffee. Okay, I've had a sip or 2 in the past 23 years, but I hated it. Instead, my go-to pick me up was green tea. I always loved the idea of being a coffee drinker. Everyone talked so passionately about it and it always smelled so good, but I just couldn't bare the taste. It wasn't until I went home this past July and went to a local coffee shop with my mom that I decided to give coffee another try. I was flying back later that evening and figured I could use a boost of energy to get through the long day.

I started with a latte, and to much surprise, I loved it. It definitely gave me the kick I was looking for and it tasted really good with soy milk mixed in. After that, I would treat myself to a latte or make my own iced coffee at home once or twice a week when I needed a pick-me up.

I loved how it turned out, but I hated feeling like I wasting the coffee grounds. I don't like anything going to waste. I decided to google what I can do with used coffee grounds. I came across an easy DIY body scrub that only required a handful of ingredients that you're likely to already have stored in the pantry.

The scrub felt amazing and the strong smell of coffee was an added bonus.

What you'll need:

  • 3 TBSP used coffee grounds

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (or olive oil)

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (white or brown)

  • 1 TSP cinnamon

Mix all together and enjoy!
