SANTA BARBARA WEEKEND

One of the best things about living in LA is its close proximity to so many great cities. I have an ongoing list of places I want to travel to for long weekend getaways or even day trips. Over Labor Day weekend, my friends and I decided to visit Santa Barbara. I had never been before, but I was so excited because it was one of the cities on my list.
We decided to leave Saturday morning and rolled into SB late afternoon. Immediately upon arrival, we went straight for food. We stopped for mexican food at La Superica Tacoria. Although this place is little, it packs quite the crowd and with good reason. This little hole in the wall restaurant got its claim to fame for being Julia Child's favorite Mexican food spot in SB and it did not disappoint.

Once we finished lunch and dropped off our things, we walked to town and enjoyed all the cute shops and warmed up with some tea at The French Press, which I highly recommend. Santa Barbara is beautiful. The buildings are incredible, often displaying the same stark white exterior with colorful clay rooftops, contrasting perfectly with the lush mountain views in the background.

For a mid day (more like evening) pick me up, we stopped at the cutest bakery, The Anderson's, for some treats. We initially just stopped in to check out the decor, but were then given samples of different treats and we caved, getting a slice of Tiramisu, Boston Creme Pie and an Almond Peach Scone. If you're ever in the area, you have to stop here for dessert. The interior is exactly how you picture a cute little bakery, with its pink walls and white antique china on display.

The rest of the weekend consisted of early morning hikes, afternoon naps at the beach and flights of wine to end the night. Santa Barbara, although a sleepy town, is one of the most beautiful cities I've seen so far in California. It's charm is infectious with its amazing views and even better wine.
