RED DRESS

Red is not a color I have much of in my closet. Come to think of it, I really only have one other red piece in my wardrobe, but it's more oxblood than anything else. I am a total creature of habit. I eat the same meals, have the same daily routine and go to the same coffee shop every Sunday. I love trying new things, but when it comes to my work week routine, I stick to what I know. I crave routine during the week, but love adventure come the weekend. Lately, I've been trying to step up my style game. As I mentioned in my previous post, I love a good tee paired with jeans and converse, but it feels good to change it up.

I came across this red dress from Forever21 and initially didn't think much of it. However, the more I looked at it, I found I really liked the silhouette and high slits. I'm learning it's important to try things on because that can be such a game changer. The color and print are two things I'd normally stray away from, but somehow, when paired together, it totally worked (especially when paired with a leather jacket). I thought I'd really miss the Chicago fall weather, but much like the weather there, here in LA its cold in the morning and then 90 degrees by the afternoon, so layering is pretty much key to nailing fall style.
