AN OPEN LETTER TO DONALD TRUMP.

Dear Donald Trump,
I heard the news. I suppose congratulations is in order, but I'm not sure I can manage that. However, what I can say, is thank you. Thank you for reminding me how much harder I'll have to work over my male counterparts just to prove I'm worthy of a job I'm overqualified for. Thank you for further installing a drive in me that is determined to shatter the glass ceiling. Thank you for lighting a fire within me that will not stop fighting the fight against sexism and rape culture.
I once read that sometimes it's easier for women to ignore feminism because once you're aware of how prevalent sexism is in your day to day life, it's truly depressing. Us women have come a long way, but today, we took a giant step backwards. However, instead of feeling defeated, I only feel more empowered. Because the thing is, Mr Trump, us women have been pushed down and silenced our entire lives. Yet, we still fight and will continue to do so.
Your actions and words over the past few months have horrified and shaken me to the core. I am so deeply disturbed that this is what we've come to, but I will still respect you. I will not stoop to your level. I will not let hatred comprise my character. But I will dedicate my life to shattering the glass ceiling and destroying the patriarch that you so happily claim. So thank you. Thank you for reminding me that I'd much rather be the obnoxious feminist than be complacent with my own dehumanization.
Sincerely,
Fearless feminist
