BACHELORETTE WEEKEND

This past weekend, I flew home to Chicago for a quick weekend trip to celebrate my sister's Bachelorette Party. Instead of a wild night bar hopping in Chicago, we decided to make it a whole day of pampering and treating ourselves, all while staying in small town Geneva.

We started the morning with mimosas and tons of breakfast goodies, including a yogurt and oatmeal bar with all the toppings you could imagine. Then we were off to town for some Starbucks and manicures at Well Polished. After relaxing while getting our nails done, we headed to lunch across the street at Bread & Wine for appetizers, lunch and, you guessed it, lots of wine.

After treating ourselves to cheese platters, soups and sandwiches, we headed to our next destination: The Oscar Swan Bed & Breakfast. If you live in Geneva or a town surrounding it, I highly recommend taking a staycation there. It had so much vintage charm and was unlike any other B&B I've ever seen. We were the only ones staying there for the night so the whole place was ours for the taking, as we ran down the halls in our matching robes and slippers.

We lounged at the hotel for a few hours, opened presents, played games and nibbled on treats all throughout the day until dinner later that evening. The following morning, we all had breakfast in the atrium where a full buffet was prepared for us. Naturally, we stayed in our robes for the occasion.
