JANUARY MOOD

January 1st is one of my favorite days of the year. Blame it on the list-maker in me, but I absolutely adore the idea of a fresh, new start. I love jotting down new goals and reflecting on my dreams and aspirations. While others dread making resolutions they don't believe they can keep, I enjoy the challenge. Some goals are simple, like go to Church more often or discover new hiking trails. Whereas others require more effort, such as, volunteer and finish a cookbook.
When I was living in the midwest, January was always a brutal month. Between the snow storms and below freezing temperatures, it was hard to feel motivated and inspired. However, the past 2 weeks in LA have been my favorite kind of weather; rainy and overcast. The kind of weather that makes a hectic work week feel slightly less rushed and a lot more tranquil. I love rainy days because it allows me to stay in all day without feeling guilty. I get all my cleaning done and am surprisingly productive. Between the new year and this cozy weather I've been feeling really inspired, so as usual, I put all my ideas in one place and created a mood board.
