CARLSBAD FLOWER FIELDS

A few weeks ago, my good friend and I took a mini road trip to Carlsbad, California. It's about 2.5 hours from LA and completely worth it. While I may not have been gifted with the greatest of green thumbs, I still have a love for all things green. Each week, I buy myself fresh flowers and decorate them throughout my apartment. It's such a simple thing that brings me so much joy.

When I heard about the flower fields in Carlsbad, I immediately put it on my bucket list of things to do while living in California. I had googled images to get an idea of what I'd be walking into, but no picture on Google could prepare me for the breathtaking fields of flowers in every color under the sun.

While I don't jump on the bandwagon for all trends, the "pom-pom" look is definitely one I can get on board with. I got these lace up gladiator sandals from Target a few months ago and finally felt like I had the perfect weather and occasion to wear them. The colorful prints and colors seemed appropriate given all the textures and colors surrounding me.

Naturally, we ended out little field trip with strawberry shakes and shortcakes; all made with local fresh strawberries. Hands down the best shake I've ever had.
