Flirty 40's

Here in LA, we have this thing called "June Gloom" which is exactly what it sounds like. For a majority of the month, every morning is greeted with grey skies and cool air. However, this year, June gloom was short lived and I couldn't be happier about it.

Lately, I cannot get enough of summer dresses. I want flowy polka dot dresses, bohemian wrap maxis, flared skater skirts, and so on and so forth. Basically, I just want my closet to be an assortment of fun, flirty dresses. While the weather right now is pretty perfect, its only a matter of time before the heat becomes stifling. Thats where dresses come into play. They're perfect for breathability and simple to style. All you need are some neutrals sandals and a summer satchel and you're set.

This wrap dress from Brandy Melville made me feel like Ali from the Notebook. The simplicity of the print, complimented with the feminine details in the sleeves brought me back to the 1940's, where women's style was modest, yet youthful and flirty. I decided to go all out with a bold blood-orange lip and nude lace up sandals; my modern take on a very 40's feel.
